so it has been quite a while since my last blog...we have been so busy, but right now everyone-including chris-in my house is fast asleep and i have found a minute to update my blog....the biggest happening was last weekend-andy and megan's wedding-that is a whole other blog in itself-i don't have the time to upload all of those pics-maybe tomorrow. so a few weekends ago i took a trip with 3 girlfriends to the lake of the ozarks...we take this yearly trip and it started off as a weekend totally dedicated to scrapbooking, then the next year we did a little bit of scrapbooking, shopping and christmas cards, this year we nixed the scrap and cards and went straight for the shopping...and oh did we shop! we left friday early in the morning and had a fabulous lunch at our favorite little bistro called on the rise. after lunch and checking into our hotel, we headed out to shop-hitting the outlet mall and ending the evening with a movie-nights of rodanthe-which was so good it was terrible-i cried the last 10 min. of the movie.i did take my camera-but didn't take one picture! the rest of the weekend took a toll on our wallets and checking accounts, but we did get some great deals and had so much fun talking, eating, and spending great adult time sans kiddos.(of course we missed them).
the weekend before the lake we had our annual fair in brentwood called brentwood days-it kicks off with a run, a parade and then all of the rides are free, the food is fabulous-think fair food:kabobs, cheese fries, funnel cakes and it's all pretty cheap, the games cost and the prizes are horrible, but we put out our giant tarp near the stage and listen to the tunes of ___as elvis

and the kids dance

and the evening is finished off with a great fireworks display.

always a good time with friends.

since chris is training to climb mt. rainier in the spring, he wanted to have a family outing to the climbing gym downtown called upper limits-i am not a fan of heights so i sat back and looked pretty and took pictures! the kids had a blast and really enjoyed climbing.

finally, to bring us back up to date, this past weekend chris took bradley on an overnight tent-camping trip (last night it got down to 32 degrees)-they are crazy and they had so much fun! i stayed home because of lainie's social calendar-she had an early soccer game on saturday morning, followed by a quick bath and on to a costume birthday party. while she was partying the afternoon away, tristan and i pulled out our halloween decorations-he was so funny- as we were hanging the fake cobwebs (his goal was to make our house super-scary) he says to me,"wow mom, our house is going to be extra scary with these fake cobwebs and all of these real cobwebs!"-do you love it?...he is the funniest kids, and apparently i need to look at cleaning the cobwebs. We also decorated the clubhouse...

-tristan thinks it is a haunted clubhouse now-i haven't updated you on clubhouse progress in a while- the outside is finished:cute huh? and the inside walls are finished (wood panelling-it looks like a cabin) but chris still has to lay the floor, put on the doorknob, and build the loft)

....after picking lainie up from her party she had a sleepover last night (i'm telling you its hard to keep up with her social life) so we had a quiet evening at home-it was so enjoyable-the first saturday night at home in forever. today we went to church and then lainie went to the park with a friend, so tristan and i finished our decorating, and then lainie had a fall hotdog/marshmallow roast this evening. Chris and bradley came back from their camping trip absolutely exhausted, we picked lainie up from her roast and then decided to start a new tradition-we decorated a gingerbread haunted house.

it was a great family fun evening activity and then everyone went to bed early.

i will post pics from the wedding tomorrow!

Sounds like you've had a very busy past few weeks! Glad you had a fun time shopping on the trip with your friends!
Tristan would definitely think our house is super scary and we didn't even decorate for halloween!
I'm just excited because we're actually in a place where we are going to get trick or treaters this year!!!!
